Typically, the minimum age for overland tours is 18. However, children aged 10 to 17 may be allowed to join if they are traveling with a parent(s), depending on the specific tour, time of year, and availability.

There are specially curated tours known as Family Departures, which are designed for children between the ages of 10 and 17.

For privately arranged charter tours, the age limits can vary based on the chosen route and tour type.

It’s important to note that Gorilla Trekking tours have a strict minimum age requirement of 16 years.

The amount of time spent driving varies based on the tour and route selected. Typically, each tour includes both shorter drives lasting a few hours and longer drives that take up an entire day. These longer drives will incorporate stops for lunch, restrooms, and scenic views, allowing you to stretch your legs and appreciate the environment.

For all tours, essential equipment such as tents (on camping tours), chairs, tables, cutlery, pots, and pans are included.

Your tour crew plans meals that include delicious options such as a traditional African braai (BBQ) and local dishes. If you have specific dietary needs or allergies, just inform us in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

In locations where bedded accommodations are provided, such as Swakopmund or Victoria Falls, breakfasts are served by the accommodation establishment. Please ensure to communicate any dietary requirements or allergies to us, so that we can ensure your needs are met throughout the tour.

African Geographical safaris are not designed as ‘booze-cruise’ tours. Enjoying a few drinks at sunset or around the campfire is acceptable, but excessive drinking and disturbances are not tolerated. Our goal is to ensure a fun and pleasant experience for everyone, which is especially important given the remote wilderness locations we visit and the diverse group of travelers on our tours.

We enforce a strict ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards the use of illegal drugs. Possession of illegal contraband, non-prescribed narcotics, or firearms will result in immediate removal from the trip without any refund of the trip fare. Remember, experiencing an African jail is certainly not one of the adventure activities on your itinerary.
